The Urban Sacred

The Urban Sacred – Iconic Religion project is an interdisciplinary, international cooperation with CERES, Ruhr University Bochum, Lancaster University, UK, Utrecht University, NL, which examines the material evidence of religions in urban areas in three selected Western European metropolises and capitals: Amsterdam, Berlin and London.

For the project Henriette was commissioned to find a visual interface to support and embolden the research work.

This work emerged, consisting of fifty photographs examining the various locations of the three cities for their appearance, particularity and diverse layers of signs. The series was presented as ten large tableaus.
